Slightly Less than Extreme Home Makeover

After we lost the big pear tree in front of our house a few months ago when it split in a wind storm, we determined it was necessary to spruce up the front of our house. The tree was so big that it blocked nearly the entire front of the house from the street. Below you will see the before and after pictures of our minor transformation.

This was the front of our house immediately after the removal of tree.

This is how our house looks now. We painted all the shutters and the door. It took four days over the past two weeks (projects don't move quite as quickly with two little ones), but it was well worth the effort! Now we need to find a replacement tree.

Whoo-hoo! It looks great!!! I always thought the green was very nice, but the red just pops on the white at the top. It also looks great with the brick. Next spring you can plant red geraniums and accessorize with your shutters. :)
